Pete and I have received our first JOB! Sure, it comes through someone Pete did work for before, but that's how it starts. Pete has spent many hours working on getting our website up and running so that we could actually let people see it, though of course it is a work in progress. Just getting the skeleton up there gave us a huge boost, and we are feeling motivated. I'm trying to get it into the search engine loop, but so far it doesn't seem to have been crawled after two submissions to Google. I have more work to do in finding out where else it can be submitted and what the best way to do that is. Though with this blog, I submitted it to Google twice and now it comes up for all sorts of searches on all sorts of search engines.
So the job is small, but it is our first job. We are thrilled, and hopeful. I dream of the day I can tell my job I'm leaving to persue my own business full time. I dream of it even when I am awake.
In other news...this Saturday I am making my first venture out to try on wedding dresses with my mom, my daughter, and Cecily! I am actually getting married in less than 8 months. Holy Shit! I have no qualms or doubts about getting married, but there is a slight panic beginning to seep to the surface when I think about all the things I need to do for this even to happen. I'm not a very good organizer. We have the venue booked, the officiater picked (a good friend of mine), the wedding party selected, but that's it. I have ideas for many of the other aspects, but still need to DO something about them...DJ, opera singers for ceremony, photographer, flowers, etc.
Oh yeah. And the little matter of getting Pete LEGAL over here. He is coming back here for a two week visit on Monday, so our plan is to meet with an immigration officer so we can be walked through the mountains of red tape we are both petrified of facing. We're gonna have to get over that real soon. As of now, it appears getting his two dogs over here is a hell of a lot easier than getting him here permanently, so I'm wondering if perhaps we should dress him up as a dog and put him in a crate. He'd just have to get some shots, that's all.
Life is moving forward, rapidly. And what an amazing life this is turning out to be.
I just planned my own wedding (November) and I can't tell you how relieved I was to get all the stress behind me. I hope you are taking time for yourself (or am I the only one who neglects when things get harried?). Good luck!

Congrats on your first gig, Sarah! Fan-fucking-tastic! Sooner rather than later, you'll be doing what you want to do. :)
As for the wedding - you've got plenty of time. Try to remember through this whole business, this is supposed to be for YOU and PETE. Nobody else. If you are miserable because it's stressed you out, you are defeating the whole purpose.
Now get your butt over to my blog and tell me what the hell to do, since you predicted this whole thing anyway. Got any lotto numbers for me? :)

I'm sure you know all this sort of thing. But the best way to get a site searchable by Google is for lots of sites to link to it using specific words...
This site will appear high up in Google as lots of different blogs out there link to you. Every time you comment on another blog you increase your searchability.
I hope this helps!
- and good luck with the wedding dresses, I remember how much fun I had choosing mine :)
